Ic. SWD Introduction

The invasive fly, spotted winged Drosophila (SWD) Drosophila suzukii, a serious pest that damages small fruits (e.g., strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries) and stone fruit crops (e.g., cherries) threatens profitability of many fruit industries. In addition, SWD have been found in backyard, unmanaged ornamental and wildland (non-crop) berries, all of which are potentially very important sources of population build-up and risk to cropping systems.
