Mint Aphid has not been a serious pest in most commercial mint fields in the Northwest.
Thus, treatment thresholds have not been established. Damage from the mint aphid occurs
when the population is very high and the leaves are coated with large amounts of honeydew,
which may interfere with harvest. The mint aphid population may be estimated using a sweep
net during the same time as sampling for cutworms and loopers. In most years and in most
production areas, naturally occurring predators such as lady beetles, green lacewings, and
syrphid flies suppress the population. Parasites, which aid in the suppression of mint
aphid, also may be present in some fields .

If treatment is necessary, see the insecticide table for registered
insecticides and rates for use on mint to control mint aphid.
